Whether we are sitting with our backs to the mirror or facing it head on, the message is still the same. We are brave enough to sit before our reflection. Our position perhaps reflective of where we are on our journey toward healing. With our backs to the mirror, we send the message that we are strong enough to look to the future and to take one step at a time toward a brighter tomorrow. Facing the mirror we say that we are able to look at ourselves and embrace all that we have been, all that we are, and all that we hope to be.

We are empowered because we no longer have to hide. We are free to discover and embrace the beauty that lies within and without. It’s the turn of a long forgotten smile, the light emerging from once tear filled eyes. It’s shoulders squared and a head held high. It’s an attitude that says, “I am here, and I will not disappear.” In this space we are determined to explore the image before us; the image of hope.
